An American weapons manufacturer offers to sell two advanced drones to Ukraine for one dollar, The Wall Street Journal reports.
The drones are of the Reaper MQ-9 type, and are produced by General Atomics. They are currently not in use in Ukraine. The White House must approve the sale for it to be realized, and they did not want to comment on the matter to The Wall Street Journal.
However, the sale will not be cheap for Ukraine. According to the newspaper, the sales agreement requires Ukraine to spend around ten million dollars to prepare and transport the drones to the country, in addition to around eight million dollars each year for maintenance.
A spokesperson for General Atomics tells the newspaper that they cannot comment on individual agreements, but adds that they believe Ukraine may need drones like the Reaper, and soon.
